Gulong safety starts with 5 easy steps! Sa biyahe, tiwala sa gulong ang importante. Keep your tires in top shape with the Gulong CARES method—your monthly tire maintenance buddy.

Your tires play a key role in how your car performs and how safe your trips are. We created the GULONG.PH CARES checklist to help you maintain your tires with five simple checks each month. Backed by trusted brands, this guide is designed for Filipino drivers who want reliable tires and fewer issues on the road.

C - Check Tire Pressure

Underinflated tires can increase rolling resistance, meaning mas hirap umikot ang gulong—kaya mas mataas ang fuel consumption. Overinflated tires naman reduce contact with the road, risking less grip and uneven wear.

Pro Tip:

Check pressure before driving kasi uminit ang gulong habang tumatakbo, which can give false readings.

Look for this label:

A – Assess Tread

The tread is what grips the road.

The Piso Hack:

Check this Piso Hack Tutorial

Legal minimum tread depth sa ibang bansa like the US or UK is around 1.6mm.

Signs of low tread:

  • Mahabang braking distance

  • Poor handling

R – Review for Physical Damage

Signs to watch for:

  • Cuts or cracks

  • Bulges or bubbles

  • Nails, screws, o kahit basag na bote na nakatusok

E – Examine for Uneven Wear

Common Patterns of wear:

Effect:

  • Mahirap i-control ang manibela

  • Mas mabilis masira ang gulong

  • Premature tire replacement

S – Schedule Tire Rotation

Tamang rotation helps you get the most mileage out of your tires—up to 20% longer life!
